Yutiev Plant Production Institute of NAAS – a scientific and methodical center of Ukraine of agrarian specialization, which is of strategic importance for the economy and security of the state

The Institute’s main activities are as follows:

  • Fundamental and applied studies.
    Fundamental and applied studies.

    Fundamental scientific studies on theoretical principles field crop breeding, plant genetic resources, crop production and seed production.
    Applied studies to create varieties and hybrids of field crops, to develop technologies for their cultivation and implementation.

  • Coordination of scientific studies.

    The Institute and the National Center for Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine coordinate studies on the formation of the plant gene pool and the maintenance of the Bank of Plant Genetic Resources of Ukraine, which is a national asset.
    The Institute coordinates studies on heterosis sunflower breeding, seed production and hybrid cultivation technologies.

  • Scientific support of agribusiness.

    The Institute is the main institution of the Eastern Interregional Research Center, which provides scientific and information support and implementation of scientific innovations in agribusiness.

    Post-graduate and doctoral programs in specialty 201 «Agronomy». Specialized Council for the defense of doctoral and candidate theses in «Breeding and Seed Production», «Plant Production».
