Originator - Plant Production Institute nd. a V.Ya. Yuryev of NAAS.

It has been entered in the Plant Variety Register of Ukraine for growing in forest-steppe zone of Ukraine since 2004.

Varietal characters: Variety – leucurum. White awned compact glabrous cylindrical ear, 6-8 cm long. Ear does not shed its grain. Nonshattering ear. Medium lodging. Awns are white throughout the length, long, parallel, coarse, barbed. Mass of 1,000 seeds is 40-45 g.  Caryopsis is medium, amber, half elongated. Medium crease. Medium phenol staining. Lancet-shaped glume. Venation is feebly marked. Short pointed tooth. Narrow sloping shoulder. Keel is beak-like, considerably expressed. Uprightbush. Strong filled culm.

Biological features: This sort is of forest-steppe ecotype. It is a mid-season variety.  Growing season – 77-110 days. Lodging resistant. Theheightofplantis 80-100 cm. Easily thrashed grain. Loose smut resistance, brown rust resistance,  and powdery mildew resistance are on the standard level. Covered smut resistance is higher than that in the standard.

Economic features: The potential yield capacity is 5.5 t/ha. The gluten content is 34-36 %, the protein content is 14.5-16.5 %. An exceptional characteristic of the sort is its combining high macaroni qualities with excellent baking qualities. It is this factor which interested wheat groat manufactures and specialists in flour-milling industry, which resulted in an increased demand for this sort seeds. 

Agrotechnical requirements: Seeding rate is 4.5 mln of germinable seeds per hectare.  The sort has a high ecological plasticity, which promotes its popularity in industry. Its lodging resistance is enhanced. It reacts to intensive growing technology well. Prior to sowing seeds should be dressed with an insecticide and a fungicide.
