Varietal features. Variety – contecstum (linked), subvariety – mеsomelan (black raphe).
The sort is leafless , semi-dwarf.
The stem is typical, the plant height is 75-100 cm. There are 13–15 internodes before the first inflorescence. Flowers are white, there are 2–3 flowers on the anthophore; the legume is shelling, straight with blunt top. The average number of seeds per legume is 4–5, the maximum number is 7. Seeds are pink, rounded, with black raphe, uniform.
Economic features. The sort is grown for grain, mid-ripening. The growing season length is 75–78 days. Mass of 1,000 seeds is 250–280 g. Protein content in sseds - 22–24 %. The sort is drought resistant, lodging resistant and suitable for straight-cutting.
In 2004 at Belotserkovskaya State Variety Station of RDE Yuzhnyy the sort Modus had the highest yield capacity (5.78 t/ha) among 20 sorts. In 2008 at Vilnyanskaya State Variety Station in Zaporozhskaya region 3.44 t/ha were obtained. In 2010 in the demonstration trail of Khmelnitsky Agroindustry Institute 2.34 t/ha were obtained. In the steppe Crimea for the period of 2007-2010 the yield capacity of the sort was 2.03 t/ha, the maximum yield capacity (3.13 t/ha) was obtained in 2008 and 2010.
Under on-the-farm conditions in 2012 at JLLC Peremoga in Fastovsky district of Kiyevskaya region the yield capacity of 4.25 t/ha was obtained.
